Why this site exists

Buying a guitar online is weirdly hard. The same Les Paul Studio can cost one price at gibson.com and another at a dealer across the country, the "sale" badge often means the price went back to normal, and nobody tells you what the guitar actually cost last month. Guitar Price is the site we wanted to shop from: one table, the official store and top independent dealers side by side, the cheapest real offer highlighted.

Who runs this

Guitar Price is built and maintained by Sun, a software engineer and guitar player of 15+ years. What started as a personal spreadsheet tracking whether a Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul was actually cheaper at a dealer or on Amazon grew into this site. The price-sync scripts, the dealer matching logic, and the weekly review process are all hands-on work — not outsourced, not AI-generated filler. When a price looks wrong, a human checks the source page before the next publish.

We are a small independent publisher, not a store and not owned by any manufacturer. Neither retailers nor brands have any say in which models we track or how we rank them.

What we track

Every guitar in the current Gibson, Epiphone, Fender, and Squier catalogs — electric, acoustic, and bass — synced directly from the brands' own storefront data, plus new stock at Chicago Music Exchange, Willcutt Guitars, The Music Zoo, Elderly Instruments, and Music Villa, matched to the catalog models they actually are. Amazon is a check link on every row, so its live price is one click away. No estimates, no hand-picked selections: the whole catalog. New brands are added regularly. The current data is as of July 26, 2026.

How we make money
